It is finally February! I really can't tell you how much I've been looking foward to this month. For those of you that are keeping track, I'm 35 days away from my due date. I've heard from various sources that your first child usually comes late, but whatever- I'm having a baby- soon. According to Dr. Bhuller, this overactive baby could come as soon as Valentine's Day- so heres to hoping!
Starting next week, I go to the doctor's office EVERY WEEK. Bah! And Shaun starts classes again next week, keeping him nice and busy.
We have our "Basic Infant Care" class at the hospital on Wednesday. Now I know it seems a little cheesy, but hey- the more we know the better. Neither one of us have had an extensive amount of time with newborn babies- and when we have, we've always had the option of giving it back to 'Mom or Dad.' Now WE are Mom and Dad...
Our precious friends Zach and Shannon Roberts will be in town for a short visit on the 12th; my Sunday School baby shower is that day as well.
The 20th is probably the most exciting day of the month- SHAUN'S MOM WILL BE HERE!!! (hi mom!) We have not seen her since our wedding, about 2 1/2 years ago. She actually arrives in the States on the 6th and will spend two weeks 'home' in Virginia before coming down to sunny FL. For all of you who have met her, you know that she is a super cool lady, though slightly crazy, and I'm looking foward to spending time with her. She brought to my attention that she and I didn't really get a whole lot of time together before she went overseas, so hopefully we'll still like each other after she leaves in March.
And finally, on the 25th Shaun and I have tickets to go see Wicked at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Now, I know that is cutting it a little close to the due date, and there is the possibility that the baby could come early and we wont be able to go. And there is also the possibility that I could go into labor while at the show. But its Wicked...I'm willing to risk it. Even if my contractions start at the top of Act I, I figure I can hold that baby in through the 2 1/2 hour show and 1 1/2 drive back to Orlando...no biggie. Or maybe I'll just give birth in the theatre- they have REALLY nice bathrooms.
So there you have it, your basic February Intinerary for the Cross househould. You can all sleep a little easier now.
Oh and if any of you theatre-y types are looking for temporary work- CFCA still hasn't found anyone to replace me while I'm out on leave. Wouldn't you just love to teach some drama classes and direct a Middle School play??
